When Eric Stuebner of Westbrook goes grocery shopping, he doesn't just shop for himself, but for his community, too. He purchases items most requested at the SSKP Westbrook pantry; items like soup, peanut butter and pasta.

Last week he donated many bags full of food to the pantry, for distribution to local residents who are struggling to feed their families. Eric has been a member of the Vista Vocational & Life Skills Center since he was a young adult and was one of their very first students. Vista provides services and resources to adults with disabilities, helping them to live an independent and successful life. Despite his challenges with the daily tasks so many of us take for granted, he has taken on the personal goal of helping others which makes his donation even more special.

His Life Skill Instructor, Aimee Vincente, brought the food to the pantry on Eric's behalf, explaining, "Eric is not with me today because he is a private person who chooses to help his community 'behind the scenes'. He understands that many people struggle to make ends meet, and wants to help." He told Aimee that he felt giving food to the needy was "the right thing to do".

SSKP thanks Eric Stuebner for making a difference in the lives of his neighbors, and for setting such an outstanding example of what it means to give back.
