Feeding the Hungry Along the Shoreline

get helpThe Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries is an interfaith service that provides food and fellowship to those in need and educates our community on hunger and poverty.

Once again this year area fire departments are coming together to help feed shoreline neighbors in need! Save the date - and lend a hand on Saturday, April 14th from 9 AM to 1 PM. Last year's Firehouse Food Drive collected a whopping 5,239 pounds in donations, with the help of many generous members of the community. Non-perishable items such as rice, pasta, soup, peanut butter, tuna and cereal are requested. SSKP hopes to include as many fire departments as possible in the 11 shoreline towns we serve. So far, the Chester, Clinton, Deep River, Essex, North Madison, Old Saybrook and Westbrook fire departments have committed to the event. All fire departments are welcome to participate.
