Feeding the Hungry Along the Shoreline

get helpThe Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries is an interfaith service that provides food and fellowship to those in need and educates our community on hunger and poverty.

The Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries will serve a Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, November 22, 2018 - 1:00 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 336 Main Street, Old Saybrook.

It takes a team effort to make the Thanksgiving meal a success.  Here are positions we need to fill:
 
Wednesday, November 21 - 2 or 3 people to pre-cook turkeys
Thursday, November 22 - 5 people to warm food and prepare it to be served; 1 or 2 people to supervise the dining area set-up; 1 or 2 people to organize the serving area; 1 or 2 people to handle donations and gifts; 2 or 3 people to supervise clean-up.
 
If you would like to be a part of this Thanksgiving holiday experience, you can attend orientation on Tuesday, November 13, at Grace Episcopal Church, 336 Main Street, Old Saybrook.  Start time is 5:30 p.m. for mandatory community service volunteers and 6:30 p.m. for all others.  If you would like to help out but are unable to attend the orientation, please call our office for more information (860-388-1988).  Download flyer here.
